Redundant Processes

These are the two processes that are redundant:
1) GuardDog.exe - a process of McAfee VirusScan
2) svchost.exe - a process of Windows

Why do I have 2 GuardDog.exe processes and 5 svchost.exe processes in Task Manager?

I have 4 svchost.exe's running, this is normal. Can't comment on McAfee because I don't use it.

Thanks glc. That's what I think also. Before I have only 1 GuardDog.exe but now I have 2.

hmm...they're pretty much all duplicates pointing to the internet archive.

One post I saw was different in that the guy said there was a rumor of the site changing servers.
