Hyper-Threading trouble in XP Pro

I just assembled a new system and took HDD with XP Pro from another system. The old system was AMD based and my new system is P4 model 530, socket 775 3.0GHz w/ HT. I ran the Intel Hyper-Threading Test Utility and passed the Processor Test and Chipset Test but failed the BIOS Test. I have an Asus P5P800 MB which supports HT. I have upgraded the BIOS to the latest version (1007.004) and have HT enabled in the BIOS setup. In my Device Manager I do see 2 processors but the computer is identified as ACPI PC and not Multiprocessor as I understand it's supposed to be. Is there some way that XP could be missrepresenting my hardware such that the Intel test fails the BIOS, is there a problem with the Asus BIOS, or is there something I've missed completely? I WANT MY HT

My new system is built as follows:
Motherboard - Asus P5P800
Processor - Pentium 4 model 530 3.0GHz w/ HT socket 775
HDD - Western Digital EIDE 200GB model WD2000JBRTL
Memory - 2x512 MB Samsung DDR400 in Dual Channel Config
Video - nVidia GeForce4 TI 4200 128MB

You have to do a repair reinstall of XP to load the multiprocessor HAL.
