Question Why double click brings up the search window?

Does anyone know why when I double click on a folder in Windows Explorer the Search window comes up instead of opening the sub-folder of the folder I just double click? Any idea on how to resolve this problem?

Help is appreciated.

Genius! It works! Just curious, how do you know? That MS article is exactly what I did. I tried to configure Print Directory Listing and that's when I start having the problem.

Again, thanks!

Google is great, but sometimes it takes you through too many steps. Microsoft's Help is a good starting place for diagnosing your computer problems. All I did was go to Help and Support and type: "search starts when double clicking folder" .. exactly what you wrote. The first result from the Microsoft KB was the right one. The MS Knowledgebase has grown to a great tool for troubleshooting XP issues without the hassles of going to sites that tell you to go to the KB.
