Folder Links In Win Explorer (Explore by default)
I created a shortcut to my commonly used folder in the Links bar for convenience, but there's no point if every time I click it a new window opens up that I have to close (unless I right click and click "Explore")
Does anyone know how to make folder links in Win Explorer explore by default left click (instead of Open)? Thanks. p.s. I'm running XP home |

Do you mean that you want the new window to open in the default window not in a new window?

!!! I just screwed up! I went to folder options>file types, and for "file folder" created a new action called "explore" pointing to c:\windows\explorer.exe /e
Now, any time I double click a folder in the main window of explorer, I get the following error message: Quote:
Thanks. |

You can try going to Control Panel>Folders Option>General> and choose restore defaults.

I already tried it, didn't work. Unfortunately I didn't have system restore on, so any help that you can offer would be appreciated.

Problem still persists, but here is an update: if I check the box "Launch folder windows in a seperate process" under Folder Options, then when I double click a folder in explorer it opens up the folder in a new window instead of giving me the error message. Obviously, this is not fixing the problem, just avoiding it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
