XP Pro SP2 Balloons

How do I turn off the warning balloon that tells me I don't have the firewall turned on?
I'm using a Linksys router and check security through www.grc.com on a regular basis. It says I am in complete stealth mode.
I have heard of problems with using XP's firewall so I stay away from it.
I'm familiar with the registry if a change there is needed.
TIA
Carl

I completely disabled the Security Center and haven't noticed any ill effects. To do this I simply went Start > Run > services.msc > double click on Security Center > set startup type to "Disabled" and stop the service.

That is a good idea bigandy.
I stay on top of updates to all my security items and don't have to be reminded anyway.
Thanks
Carl
