Multiboot problem
Good day,
I have a problem with the booting of one of my partitions. My set up was/is like this: C partition: Win XP pro D partition: Win XP pro I recently formatted my C partition with windows XP on it. After reinstalling windows XP on my C partition I noticed that I didn't get the boot menu I used to get before formatting C:. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the moment my boot.ini says this: [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I want to get my D: to be accesable again. How do I do that. I don't know what steps to undertake to make absolutely sure I fill in a second line for a second OS correctly. Btw. this is what partition magic says about my HDD's (see attachment). Hope someone can help me out here. Thnx in advance, PiC |

Does XP's Repair Console not bring the boot menu back?
THIS page contains alot of info on the intricacies of the boot.ini file. Maybe you can edit it properly to see both? I had to do that with a 98/XP dual boot, but I'm not sure if that will work for 2 XPs.
