Rather annoying issue with pictures sticking on the wrong folders.

I have this annoying issue, you know how when you apply the thumbnail view to a folder, if there are picture or video files inside it will show a small thumbnail (or thumbnails) of the pictures on the folder itself? Well for some reason random pictures seem to be attaching themselves to folders they should not be. For example on my C:/Windows/Resources/Themes folder, when I apply the thumbnail view there is a random picture of my Jeep from a folder in my pictures. Sometimes right clicking the folder, going to properties, customize and hitting restore default works, but most of the time it does not and the picture stays. I also noticed that it seems to be the same 5-10 pictures that attach themselves to these random folders. Even though I don’t really use the thumbnail view it is getting rather annoying. Does anyone know of a way to stop this? Some cache you can clear? Or setting you can mess with? Thanks.

This little reg tweak has been known to cure similar things:

Automatically Refresh File Lists in Explorer

Change the value of UpdateMode in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Update from 01 to 00.
