Windows 2000 Pro service pack 4,DISASTER!!!!

Tried installing service pack 4 for Windows 2000 pro earlier tonight,about half way through installation,gets an error message could not replace a certain file blah blah etc,terminated installation thinking backed up files would be re-installed,message appeared service pack 4 only partly installed insert emegency boot disk and re boot.I was told the cd rom was a bootable disk,which it ain't so I didn't make any emegency boot disk,now my pooter won't start.Any ideas what I should do next?I am totally gutted.

Your Windows 2000 CD should be bootable. If it's not, I'm betting that it's a pirated burned copy.

It ain't bootable,somebody has ripped me off!!!! .Will I be able to install this drive in another PC as a second hard drive,for data only,by setting the jumper to slave?All my business accounts,music,pictures etc etc are on this drive.

Is it a genuine Microsoft holographic CD with a certificate of authenticity?

Yep, as long as it's Win2K or XP on the other PC. You may have to "take ownership" of the files to be able to access them, this is pretty straightforward.
