Problem installing windows doesn't see hard disk!
This is a new build and I was installing XP home and after it checks my hardware configuration it says no hard disk found? Seems to be a common problem I have seen similar threads please help. System info Celeron D 3.06Gb ,Albatron 915P Pro mobo/award bios, Geil PC 3200 ram, Samsung 80Gb harddrive, Lite-on DVD-rom, Samsung DVD-RW. And yes it is a legal version of windows. I have the ide cable in the RAID IDE 1 going to the harddrive if that helps.

You'll need to press F6 during the installation process and insert the disk with your RAID drivers. you'll see the prompt at the bottom of the blue installation screen early on. Then you may need to go into your RAID BIOS to set the boot drive parameters. Try the driver install first.

Did the F6 prompt and tried to load the mainboard drivers but it to acts like they will not run. After it says load disk in drive A and press enter I can hear the disk spin up and nothing happens and then it prompts me to load the disk in drive A again. I think either the drivers disk is bad or windows is not working? I also set the RAID in the BIOS to normal like it says to do with only 1 harddrive. Still no luck.

"spin up" sounds like you are trying to load the drivers from the CD rather than from a floppy. You'll need to extract them from the mobo installation disk and make a floppy. Your floppy drive is "A:". With nothing in there that's why it's prompting you to load the disk again!

Thanks Red I'll try that. And when you say extract the raid drivers from the disk you mean only the Raid drivers or all of the drivers and will they all fit on a floppy? Thanks

Only the raid drivers. Sometimes they can be fun to locate!

ftp://211.78.163.2/product/it/mb/dri...e/v1.6.1.8.zip
This is just the drivers you need. Unzip it to a blank formatted floppy, preserving the folder structure. |

Need somemore help. I can't open that link you sent me GLC? Or please instruct me further on how to get it to a blank floppy. And I tried to extract the drivers from the CD and it says no suitable drivers for this computer and instructs me to close it. I understand the drivers won't work on another computer without that type of board but how do you go around it? Thanks for your help in advance.

I've just tried link is working you should get download manager asking you to open or save then choose to save(to desktop or where ever you are saving downloads) and when finished unzip it directly to empty (formated) floppy disk.

OK figured out what was going on with the zip files. I have the RAID drivers on the floppy but now it says "txtsetup.oem could not be found" after I insert the floppy. I don't have a clue what it is asking for now. Thanks

Unzip the file into an empty folder. Then copy the entire contents of the ITE_RAID\1618\winxp folder to a blank floppy.

Thanks guys, Nothing worked but I sat down and thought a minute and figured out that I could go around my problem. I installed the HD on the regular IDE controller with one of my optical drives and installed windows. Then I used the CD to install all the mainboard drivers and then reassembled the computer with the HD on the RAID controller and it works fine now.
