CWS / SP2 bug

Hi all.

I have just tried to install SP2 and now I get complete system cock-up! It's to do with CWS apparantly, I get the error message entitled "Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger" and no programs will open.

I've followed the instructions on this link...Here and other similar threads, but none of the steps revealed any problems and nothing particular was removed.

What can I try now? I don't know what else to do!

Hello NBee did you place your HJT log in the System Security and Privacy Forum so that an expert analyst could look at it. There could be more nasties hiding that you're not aware of.

Yes I have now - but no one seems to be interested in it!

I have now run everything suggested on the security forum, all the spyware detectors, all the virus checks, etc, my pc is clean and the problem is still there.

If I try and open anything from the desktop, start menu, in particular IE or Explorer, it hangs. Then I get the Dr Watson Postmortem message and have to reboot.

What's going on?

Will I just have to accept I can't run SP2 and uninstall it? I can't believe that...

Changed my mind. Let's close this thread and leave the one with the HJT log open.
