Windows Messenger and Outlook Express

Whenever I open outlook express, it automatically logs on to windows messenger. It never used to, it's just suddenly started doing so after one of the latest updates. Can anybody tell me how to disable windows messenger? I've checked in both outlook express options and the messenger options and neither seems to have the option to disable it.

click the add on link and choose messenger control. download, install it and run it

or you can remove messenger 4.7 altogether (if you are running windows XP) with this command:
click start>go to run and copy and paste:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Yes Outlook does have that option, and it's right there under Tools>Options on the first page that comes up which is the general tab 4th check box down fron the top. Also with SP2 you can easily remove windows messenger from windows Add Remove Programs> Add Remove windows components now, just uncheck windows messenger. I have always found that quite annoying that stuff that they have that U don't want but can't figure out how to get trid of.
