Question win XP Pro installation problems

Hey all, Hector again…

I had a weird occurrence night before last. I got everything (hardware, power, & monitor) setup correctly and I turned the power button on and the BIOS ran ok, it detected the sata HD, DVD-RW, CD-RW, 3 ˝ drive, and ram. Booted up from CD-ROM (WIN XP) and the hard drive was formatted (NTFS, I think) and began the windows OS installation, then I got an error on the second part of the instillation. The error I got was the “asms” file was not read from the CD-ROM. The actual error info was: D:\i386\asms - error 800b0100. My question is has anyone encountered this problem? If so does anyone have some advice? I searched Microsoft help center and got the follow info:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;311755

I'm thinking of taking the approach mentioned in Method #1 under the NTFS file system. This solution is basically changing the register key number that comes with Windows, but if I entered it incorrectly at the beginning of the installation process I should not be able to continue, weird…. I then had an odd hardware problem, which I have posted in the general hardware section.
