Question xp booting problem

Hello,

when restarting you PC , after the xp logo disappears , you should see the welcome screen or password prompt screen immediately, In my case the black screen after the the xp logo disappears stays 8-10 seconds before I get the welcome screen. I noticed that there is no HardDisk activity.

dont know why my system wait these 10 seconds without doing anything.

Has it always done this? Have you recently installed any USB devices? Did you recently add this pc to a network?

I formated it and reinstall the windows xp and i got this problem .

mmm, regarding the USB device yeah i attached a WEB cam and DSL USB modem?

Broadband modems that connect thru usb have been known to cause lots of issues. If there's any way to switch to an ethernet connection, it would be highly recommended.

Thanks!

but I can't do that because all ISPs in our country force you to use a broadband USB modem.

8-10 seconds is a whole lot better than minutes.
