Question SATA undefined partition

I have 80GB SATA HardDisk, I decided to format it and reinstall a fresh copy of windows XP.

my Hardisk is one partition only.

in the windows setup (Blue Screen), it gives me that i have two partitions one of them is 8 MB only, I tried to delete this partition and make one partition but it doesnt work.

when defining the partition i tried to put the whole size, it subtracts 8 MB automatically!

what is that 8 MB partition?

That 8MB partition is normal with the installation of WinXP. I'm not exactly sure what's contained in it though. I do know you shouldn't try to delete it.
