suspend problem

For some reason, when my computer goes in to suspend mode, the cpu fan and the case fans still run. 2 months ago, i clearly remember that they would turn off. what is going on?

If the fans go off, how do you keep it cool so it doesn't destory itself?

i thought that in supend mode everything is off and that there is only a trickle of power to the memory. i don't know. before it used to turn off. funny.
