Make a bootable mini Windows rescue disk?
With the old System 7 Mac you could copy the system folder and a couple of other files to a floppy and make a GUI rescue disk in case the computer wouldn't boot.
I was wondering if I could make a bootable Windows CD - A CD with just enought of the Windows system to have the GUI, desktop, and access any harddrivers? The idea is the CD would run Windows all by itself, and not depend on what is on the HD. Is this possible? |

BartPE or Ultimate BootCD for Windows might be what your after. I use UBCD all the time to diagnose and repair PCs - it includes spyware/anti-virus, hard-drive tools and a few other useful bits.
