Lag during boot up of PC.

hi!

What I know:
My PC model is HP using WinXP and is current have 2 harddisk on it. If i am not wrong, the PC is free with spyware, adware and virus. there are no internet connections for the PC also.

Problem encounter:
It took really a long time (approx 5-10mins) to boot into the winXP startup screen. When i on my PC, it will sort of hang (or consider loading) at the HP startup screen.

Is there anything i can do to solve the prob? =(

Is this a new computer?

Has this problem happened from the beginning? Or was it working fine and then this suddenly started?

Anything is possible. I would run hard drive diagnostic tools on both drives. You can find the diagnostic tools on the hard drive maker's website.

Have you made any changes to the computer? Did you load any new software just before this happened? Do you have an external drive plugged into a USB port?
