processes, IRQ's, and partitioning
A few things.
1. How do i lower the number of processes running on my computer so that it runs smoother. How do I remove some programs/icons from starting up when i turn on my computer (example MSN messenger). And realplayer, and yahoo messenger weatherbug icons are in the bottom right part of my screen. here is a list of my processes: These are all of my processes that are running. Can I end any of them without ruining my computer? NAVAPSVC.EXE notepad.exe hpzeng09.exe taskmgr.exe ipodservice.exe ctfmon.exe SAVScan.exe nvsvc32.exe acsd.exe spoolsv.exe CCEVTMGR.EXE CCEVTMGR.EXE point32.exe Weather.exe hpwuSchd2.exe iTunesHelper.exe ViewMgr.exe realplay.exe eabservr.exe CCAPP.EXE hphmon05.exe hpcmpmgr.exe jusched.exe svchost.exe svchost.exe svchost.exe svchost.exe svchost.exe lsass.exe services.exe explorer.exe winlogon.exe csrss.exe smss.exe alg.exe msnappau.exe symwsc.exe wanmpsvc.exe svchost.exe SMAgent.exe AGRSMMSG.exe System System Idle Process 2. For SERVICES, go to Control Panel->Admin Tools-> Services
Go here to read about them to decide if you need them or not: "The pages below are from our in-house database and provide guidance on the usefulness or not of these programs, and removal procedures when recommended." http://www.answersthatwork.com/Taskl...s/tasklist.htm

Don't worry about the IRQ sharing, you have an ACPI computer with APIC and all that is normal and a nonissue.
If you need to repartition your hard drive, you either have to wipe it and start from scratch or buy Partition Magic. |
