processes, IRQ's, and partitioning

A few things.
1. How do i lower the number of processes running on my computer so that it runs smoother. How do I remove some programs/icons from starting up when i turn on my computer (example MSN messenger). And realplayer, and yahoo messenger weatherbug icons are in the bottom right part of my screen.
here is a list of my processes:

2. How do i get certain items to stop running on the same IRQ, I'm think I'm getting some bottleneck action going on. here is my system info:

For SERVICES, go to Control Panel->Admin Tools-> Services

Go here to read about them to decide if you need them or not:

just a quick note,,Xp wont allow you to partition a hard drive that the boot sector is on,,,should be done before a install..

Don't worry about the IRQ sharing, you have an ACPI computer with APIC and all that is normal and a nonissue.

If you need to repartition your hard drive, you either have to wipe it and start from scratch or buy Partition Magic.
