XP won't load after restart?

Hi. I am having a weird problem with my machine (Gateway 710X, w/XP home) whenever I try to restart it via Start - Restart. It restarts normally, but it freezes on the Gateway screen and Windows won't load. I tried F8 and F10, but they don't work either. I also tried the reset button, but the same thing happened. I finally just shut it down and turned it back on and it worked.

Could anyone give me any suggestions.

How many HDD does your PC have? If two, you might have the Master/Slave wrong... Check that out to see it's the case.
