Windows Explorer Problem

I have seen this on Win98 also but currently I have a computer in the shop which will, when a data cd is inserted, show the exact contents of the prior cd which had been in the drive. It seems like I have seen this discussed or a solution but I cannot find it now. Can/will someone tell me what to tweak in order to solve this aggravation?
Thanks,
Alan

This tweak will work in Win2k and XP. Not sure about any other OS.

Automatically Refresh File Lists in Explorer

Change the value of UpdateMode in

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Update from 01 to 00

Under the key EzyStvy mentioned you may have to create a dword value named UpdateMode and set the value to 0. It works on all Windows systems.

Reboot to reset the registry or shutdown explorer.exe under processes in task manager and then click file\new task\run\explorer.exe for an abbreviated reboot that re-initializes the registry.
