Is there anyway to control which services svchost, hosts?
Ok this may be a weird question, but after disabling quite a few services I now have my system down to running only three instances of svchost (down from 5). Using a utility called process explorer I can see which services each instance of svchost is hosting. Number 1 is dedicated to remote procedure call, which is pretty much the most important service, so I am not messing with that. Number 2 hosts quite a few services, around 18, stuff like widows audio, DHCP client, ect. Then the last one hosts nothing except Windows Image Acquisition. So my question; is there anyway I could get WIA to be hosted by svchost number 2, so then I would only have two instances running. Or does WIA need to have its own instance of svchost, for whatever reason?
