xp time faster than normal

The time shown on the bottom right corner is faster than normal. It used to be around 5 mins after 1 week or more. Now its like 10mins/day. Its quite disturbing to me. Though I can always sync the time, it still goes faster after 1 day, Returning from a 3 week break, the clock was nearly 1 hour faster.

As mentioned above, I second that you might have a weak CMOS battery. Most boards carry CR2032, but it would be best to open up your machine and check.

I see the battery. It looks normal to me. So do I go and change this then? I know taking out the battery will remove the BIOS password, time, date functions, is there anything else that I will need reconfiguration?

I am having the same problem. It's now at about 10 mins a day, too. It's currenty 7 mins fast and it's been 19 hours since the last synchro. What should I do?

EDIT: THe BIOS clock is fast, too. It must be the battery, then, right?
