Utilities to Check and Repair Corrupt System Files and Registry?

Does anyone know any good tools to check for corrupt windows system files and registry corruption?

start\run\cmd\sfc.exe will provide a window with a description of sfc (system file checker).

I use Easy Cleaner up to W2k. It has caused problems in XP though.
