Must I keep all the packaging?
I just had to purchase a full retail boxed version of XP Pro for one of my PCs at work. Do I have to keep all of the packaging (box, foldouts, etc.) in order to comply with licensing requirments?
If not, what must I keep in order to comply? As always, thanks! Wanabe |

all you really need to keep is the COA (Certificate of Authencity). the CD Key on it is essentially your license to use the software

All you really have to do is keep the folder inside the box with the CD and product key. You could theoretically just put the CD in a case and cut out the product key and paste it on the case, too. Microsoft really doesn't care whether you keep all their packaging -- as long as you only have XP on one computer and are using a legitimate, activated product key, you are within the bounds of your license.
