Extra icon for non-existant network card
I probably created this problem by removing the old lan card in devices and shutting down. Then instead of rebooting before i put in the replacement lan card i charged on ahead and installed the new one before powering up the computer. Now I have the leftover icon for the non-existant card in network places. i cannot delete it. there is bound to be a way. how do i remove this unfortunate mistake? the stinky thing is that the box in properties about putting an icon in the taskbar is NOT checked but it is there anyway as a not connected local area connection.
please help. alan |

well the quick fix was to disable that connection. the icon disappeared but it is still in network places (says disabled). kinda sloppy so if anyone knows how to get rid of it please let me know.
thanks |
