Freezing.......?

My system keeps freezing every now and again...I'm not downloading anything, or even using it sometime's...! Just wont let me do anything, I have to turn it off and reboot......I'm running XP Pro.....P4 1.6ghz, 512 ram.....

Any Idea's anyone.......?????

you might want to check the termal patch or paste on your heat sink

It may be bad memory. If you have 2 memory sticks try taking one out to see if it fixes the problem, if not then try with the other one alone. If it fixes it then you know you have a bad memory stick.

Well, I've added new thermal paste, but still my problem persists, and I'm 100% sure it's not the Memory.

Would appreciate any other suggestions.....

Well, on the boot up it does a memory test and everything seems ok.....would this be a reliable test....?
I'll give the link you gave a try though, Thx.

Absolutely not. All that's doing is counting the ram, not testing it. A thorough ram test on your system will take at least 30 minutes.
