I think the main thing I have noticed is the security groups and the lack of domain support. I hate being restricted in any way. Plus I need the features Pro provides. I think most college's demand pro to connect to the network. I would say just get pro so that home headaches don't popup in the future.

Either one is fine for gaming. There doesn't seem to be any difference in the two. My wife plays several FPSs online with Home and has no problems. I have Pro and I don't have any issues either. Playing games to me is more about having hardware that can properly run and display the games and if your going online to play, a good connection, ideally cable or DSL.

I got a laptop from Dell with Home preinstalled. Little did I know that it wouldn't allow IIS to be run (well, officially anyway). When I build my new PC, I put Win2K on it and haven't looked back.
