Question about Windows XP Media Center

I have XP home and was thinking about upgrading to XP media Center Edition and had a few questions.

Can you burn dvds and dual layer dvds with this OS?

Is this version more like XP Pro or home?

I don't care about watching tv. I just want to install an OS that I don't need additional software to burn dvds.

It would also be nice to have the additional features in case I wanted to watch tv in the future.

If you have a dual layer burner it should of come with software to burn dvd... usually nero.

If you dont have a tv tuner card or if you dont plan on recording shows I wouldnt even get windows media center....

I would just stick with home or pro.

My burner didn't come with any software. DVD burning software is expensive thats why it would be nice if XP media center supports dual layer dvd burning.

Does anyone know if it does?

Does anyone know if it has all the features of XP pro?

Exclamation

It has all of them(exept it cannot be connected to a domain)!!!

The Media Center software has undergone almost as many changes as The West Wing in the off-season. The TV image quality is noticeably better, and the application includes a number of display calibration tests that allow you to fine-tune it for different display types. Overall, the application feels more stable. Microsoft hasn't directly addressed the DVD-burning issue, but Sonic Solutions has: its PrimeTime application, bundled with some Media Center PCs, lets you burn DVDs within the Media Center environment with the remote. Other notable enhancements include a better program guide, support for FM radio and on-screen phone-call notification.
