Odd WIndows XP Startup Problem
THis is a very odd problem I am having. Sometimes it happens, other times it doesn't. What the problem is when I startup the computer everything seems to be working fine, until the "Windows Is Loading" screen and it just stays there; nothing happens. When this occurs I have to wait 15 minutes to let the Windows XP screensaver come on, then I move the mouse, and then the screen that allows you to pick which user you want to use. And then sometimes when I start up, everything goes fine until there is like a "User Restriction" error or something (don't know the exact wording), but then I just press the OK button and then I can choose my user. It just pisses me off when I have to wait around for the screensaver to pop up majority of the time to get my computer to boot up all the way...any help would be much appreciated....thanks

The OS may become slow to load if the HD is heavily fragmented, PC may also become sluggish. You could check for viruses, spyware as well. Boot into safe mode, run CHKDSK and defrag if you need to, see if it helps.

My friend had similar problem but his computer was low on RAM and he had 5 users and very poor build-in graphic card (for new build).
What I wonted to say is that you can check your memory(RAM) visit this website to obtain memory test tool and guide: http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
