Data Execution Prevention?
I've recently been having some problems exploring folders. Usually my video folders, but as soon as I open them I get:
"Data Execution Prevention - Microsoft Windows To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program. Name: Windows Explorer Publisher: Microsoft Corporation" It gives the option to close the message and then it closes my folder. At first I thought maybe a virus or spyware, but I run tests quite often. Anyone know what may be causing this or how I can stop it from doing it? Thanks, Freefall |

hmm.. never have that problem before, but have you look at Microsoft's website yet?
here:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875352 could be a virus; use EXTERNAL virus scanner like trendmicro's housecall to scan your drive. |

BLeedin DEP
DEP is a nightmare. I have been having similar problems, the thing is there is nothing there to help you troubleshoot.
Anyway why don't you try turning DEP off for Windows Explore. right click on my computer Properties Advanced Performance Options Data Prevention Execution Select the Check box for "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select then check the windows explored box. you will have to reboot for the changes to take effect. Hope this helps Cheers Max |
