getting rid of the welcome screen in Xp?

how do I make it so I dont have to see the irritating welcome/login screen anymore?

you can also go to control panel -> user acounts -> then user acounts again -> change the way users log on and off -> and then deselect use welcome screen

Just another solution, but you can use TweakUI and have it log you into your account automatically.

Start windows without password Window
Start => run
enter into the box: control userpasswords2
unclick the box requiring a password
