Trojan Problems dealing with IE and Inaccessible folders

Hello. I recently was going good when i visited a site and got a little spyware. NO biggie right? Next came a trojan assault. There was a small battle between AVG, MS antispyware beta and the malicious stuff.

Well now im off, but some things have been modified. Whenever i start IE, it takes me to a search page with About:blank in the URL bar.. Obviously i did not do this. Also, i get a trojan warning below:

I delete it every time.


MS spyware tried to take action against this and now i get a RUN DLL error saying access is denied.

There was another file at work. SOmething like Jppe.dll which MS blocked. what i noticed was there was there was an IE BHO that said jppe.dll.

What it keeps doing, is that the actual BHO is like a serial like 40101-302030-A10023-04203 (that was random example) and everytime i block the BHO, the number changes.

IN summary, i went to a site, got myself infected, i ran all the scans, got rid of some viruses. Now theres a startpage virus, my IE settings get changed every time, and i cant do anything.


Sorry for long post, but 1 more thing. I saved all my games/music/etc on a second drive. So a reformat of C is possible if my games on my D drive will work and everything runs good. I just have to install some little programs. Those are the conditions. Tried system restore also, turni on off and restore, no luck.


Anyone who can offer anything even a word is welcome please.

back up any important data or files and reformat. that way you will be starting fresh with no viruses

the about blank is an option for your home page, you can change it by:
open IE>click tools?internet options>and typing in a new website to be your home page.

it sounds like you are having several ongoing problems, so my recommendation is to reformat and start fresh

Yes this was tried. This only happened about a hour ago. NOw the question is that whether or not my programs like STEAM HL2 CSS and AIM and San andreas will work. Do i make shortcuts to desktop and play? Will it appear in Add/Remove programs?
