Second verse, same as the first...

Following on from this thread, I've been hard at work trying to diagnose the problem. Here's what I've been up to. (Shorter previous thread: random reboots on a win2k PC)

-Tried different OS (Live Knoppix CD) - no effect
-Tried different memory - no effect
-Tried different PSUs - no effect
-Tried Different HD - no effect
-Dissassaembled, cleaned, and reassembled (air can and anti-static wipes)- no effect
-Reinstalled win2k - slight effect. The reboots are a lot less frequent, and I can no longer get the machine to reboot like it did before in certain instances (ie going to Computer managment console and clicking on the drive does nothing now.) As a matter of fact, I haven't had a reboot for a couple of days so far, although I haven't really been doing anything with this PC.

One thing I found interesting: Winbond's utility is telling me my Vcore is too low: a steady 1.42 (the range it has is 2.10 to 2.50).

Either way, that leaves me to conclude that it's definitely the mobo causing the problem (still can't get it to crash though!). Can anybody think of anything I'm missing before I run out and get a replacement?

UPDATE: Ok, there's still one way I can get the machine to reboot - all I have to do is load a game, and she goes down in under a minute.

No, PC reboots with or without graphics card.

Well, I'm off to ebay to find me a replacement mobo!
