Windows ME and Media Player 10

Greetings From Texas !
I was just now going to watch something and it guided me to Media Player 10 . I looked and only found it was for XP. Has anyone tried it on ME ?-----------------------Donald

I think you were right with your first findings: for Windows Media Player 10, you must have Windows XP. I don't believe the installer will proceed with Windows Me.

Windows Media Player 9 is as recent as it gets for the Win98/Me operating systems, at least for now:

Seems to be a little nudge MS is giving us longtime Win9x users.

Thanks Gary ,
I have decided to blow it off and stay with 9. My computer with ME met all the requirements for 10. Just don't know why they did not make it for ME also , plus, even 2000 is not listed to be able to have 10.Thanks-----------------Donald

Unfortunately, Microsoft tends to do a total support blackout after five years of releasing a product, starting with Windows 98 in 2002, Windows 98 SE in 2003 and Windows ME/2000 in 2005. The sad thing is that because of this, they no longer develop for Linux

The API maybe used in Windows Media Player is not supported on ME. Windows 98 will still be supported until 2006. Windows 95 and 3.1 are the two totally unsupported by Microsoft now.
