Strange prob
When I boot up it's all good except when the desk top shows up it goes black for half a second. It's nothing I can't live with, but would like to know if I can get rid of it.This started on it's own with no warning.
Thanks |

Does it go black and stay black (forcing you to hit the reset button), or does it go black for a second, then come back?

It comes back in half a second with no harm done. It's just buggy and would like to clear it up if possible.

Half a second? Is it like a normal screen refresh?
You can try disabling startup programs one by one to see if one of tem is the culprit.

It could be something as simple as your monitor detecting resolution and display settings. If the rest of the system is working properly, I wouldn't touch anything. If there was a long pause or freeze, I would say troubleshoot it. Just blink during restart and it won't bother you anymore.

Try starting in safe mode and see whether or not it happens which might give a clue if it`s hardware or software related.
Also, have you installed any hardware, software, updates, etc. prior? |
