lost my msn stored messages (folders on my computer)

Please help a newbee

I was recently changeing my isp from comcast and useing msn mail to sbcdsl. I had problems connecting, and called sbc, they sail the connection problem was because i still had msn on my computer and that i should delete their (msn) programm. Like a fool, I did, and now have lost my stored messages in msn mail. What should i now do???
Thank you in advance. (one of the reasons I am switching from msn is because of their messenger always signing in). Thank you again (windows xp)

Mick

Mick
what version fo messenger are you using?
you can change that setting to make it not sign you in automatically by going into the options on messenger>click the general tab, and remove the check marks that says like i have in the attachment. this is for messenger 7.0.

In winXp. click start>run>type "msconfig">click the start up tab and remove any messenger programs that start when windows boots up.
if you still have messenger 4.7 that comes with winXP then click start>run> past this into the run box: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

lost msn stored mail/files

Thanks you guys. I learned quite a bit following your instructions. I was still missing my old calendar from msn, and after useing an old disc to reinstall msn8, I upgraded (no charge) to a newr version of MSN, and after the download All my old files/mail/stored messages from msn mail inbox had been restored (along with my calander w all reminders). Thanks for the help. As a newbee this sight is great, but I can only take a little at a time!
Thanks
Mick
