Every now and then a window will pop-up saying that there's an error on my windows explorer and asks if I wanna send a report of the error or not. AFter a send the report all my icons on my screen disappear for a second then re=appear but some of my icons in the system tray disappear although when I check the task manager they're still running. Is this a windows XP problem or is this a virus?? I've run my anti virus but it comes up empty...please help!!

That's normal when Explorer crashes and restarts - icons disappear because the shell is restarting, and not all systray icons will come back. What you need to do is try to determine why Explorer is crashing, not why the display does what it does.

Event viewer might give a clue. Post Event ID and description.
