I have an install cd for win xp home edition. It just has hand written "XP home" on the disc so that is no help in identifying it. Is there a way to determine whether it is the upgrade version or the full install version? I am getting ready to build a new pc and I need to know if I need to purchase a new copy or not. Thanks!

Might as well buy a new one since what you have is an illegal copy and most likely won't activate anyway. Plus if you don't have a product key, it won't even load. Forum Rules prevent discussions to support the use of pirated software so, unfortunately, that's all the info you'll receive. I'm closing this thread.
