Help w/Old Windows Messaging Fax Setup

Windows 98se
Does anyone remember how to setup the old windows95 Messaging Program
to use the Faxing Application? I installed it a long time ago went to work and
couple of years later installed visioneer 8820. Now i need to send faxes. But I forgot how to configure MS Messaging. Hav the old Inbox on desktop. Hav the Fax Application in Accessories folder all ready togo. But I only have 1telephone #, fax modem is connected, hav dsl now so I do not use dialup modem to connect to internet. How do I configure the Inbox? How to I configure to receive and send faxes with the one phone number? Thnx

You need to plug your fax modem back in as I indicated in your other thread if you haven't already done so.

http://www.slipstick.com/config/win98-wminstall.htm

Check the notes - You cannot use Microsoft Fax if you have set Outlook Express to be your Simple MAPI client. Use Tools | Options in OE to change this setting.

Check this too:

Where is the Post Office? Do I hav to create one? How? 3) How do I setup profiles and what info do i need to create a profile? These are the concrete ques I need answered in most basic terms Please. To configure Microsoft Fax

1. In Control Panel, double-click the Mail And Fax icon, and then click Add.
2. In the Add Services to Profile dialog box, click Microsoft Fax.
3. A Microsoft Fax warning message asks if you want to type your name, fax number, and fax device modem. Click OK.
4. In Microsoft Fax Properties, click the Message, Dialing, Modem, and User tabs, and type the appropriate information.

This tells me that Microsoft Fax should be the ONLY service in the profile, if anything else is in there, get rid of it. Don't mess with the Inbox.

Setting up Old Windows Fax in Win98SE

GLC Thnx... Setup for fax asks me to create a mailbox.pab in
C:\Exchange\mailbox.pab and when i click on next : "An Error Occurs while configuring this file as The Personal Address Book. Please choose another file."
Tried to run find *pab to use that location but all I come up with is - Wwpab.cnv in C:\Program Files\ 40kb...
The C:\Exchange Folder is empty. What do I do here. Thnx
