Physical Address Extension (XP)
I just right clicked "my computer" and chose properties.
Just below where it lists the ram ammount, it has the words "Physical Address Extension" I have never noticed that before, can anyone tell me what it means? Thanks in advance Jack My system is as follows. AMD 3500 64bit processor, on a ASUS A8V board Nvidia 5900 graphics card Creative 5.1 sound card 1 Gig of ram. |

Many thanks for the quick replies. I have read throught the articles from the links you supplied.
What puzzles me is that I am sure that it was not there last week. Could Windows update have something to do with it being there now? Jack |

Solved
I have just had a look at my other computer on my home network, which also has an AMD 64 bit processor.
It has exactly the same message. I used Windows update at the weekend on both of them, and downloaded quite a few things, so perhaps it came with that. Anyway, as I said, I was just curious about it. The linked articles were very interesting and informative, and on following links within the articles I now know what "Physical Address Extension" means. Thank you for the prompt replies. Jack |
