How To Article - Windows XP cleanup

Anyone know where I can get an easy to read article that tells a beginning XP user how to keep windows XP cleaned up and running good?

right here at pc mech. just post your question, and you will get a wealth of knowledge from other mechies

viruses:
run AVG for viruses
housecall.antivirus.com

spyware:
adaware
spybot
microsoft antispyware
hi jack this www.merijn.org

i would say run them at least once if not twice a week, depending on your browsing/downloading habits.
