dissapearing partition

can anyone help,i have winxp pro 0n one drive at fat32,i have the other drive in two partitions of 60 gig at fat32.
i converted one of the 60gig partitions to ntfs to take sizes over 4gig downloads.
when i download a dvd iso to the ntfs partition and then burn it to disk, after i delete the iso it is gone from the partition but the size of the iso is taken off the size of the partition, can anyone explain how do i get my space
back or what do i need to do to correct before i have no partition left? I have emptied the recycle bin before i start and checked it after finishing,it is empty.
cheers huggy
