hhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi. not sure if this is in the right place or not but here it goes any way. i was tring to upgrade xp on my pc earlyer as i have 98se on it right now, but once it had restarted it gave me a option to chose between windows (98) or xp setup and i just left it to auto select and do its own thing, it went in to xp start up and started to check the system like nomal and then it went to copy the files ,and this is were the problems started, it would not copy the files to the hdd and now ever time i reboot it gives me a option to either chose xp setup or windows but the problem is it only give me 4secs to chose between the 2. if any one can help as i am a lazy git who likes to turn my pc and leave it not fiddle with it and make it chose different os's. if any one knows who to sole this problem
please let me know cheers mike |

XP may just not install on that motherboard, that's not uncommon with older hardware. You also may have flaky ram - XP is a lot fussier than 98 when it comes to ram. Test your ram with memtest86+ (www.memtest.org) and possibly try a motherboard bios update. Make sure you have the bios virus protection turned off.
