System Powerdown Problem
I am running XP Home edition, and when leaving my computer unattended for lengthy periods or overnight It appears to powerdown and the only solution is to restart. Can anyone suggest why this is?
The settings on monitor power in control panel are: T/O monitor after 10mins T/O HD after 25mins System standby after 15 mins System hibernates after 45 mins

When you say it "appears to be powering down" are you sure it hasn't just gone into the 'hibernation' state?.

Yes, it's gone into hibernation, but won't power up, and when restarted it doesn't revert back to the state that it hibernated from with the relevant programs back to where they were.

Ok, so what happens when you press the power button once, after it's in 'hibernation'?.

It just goes into the normal start up routine.

I set the monitor to 20 minutes and "never" for everything else. If you want to hibernate it, do it manually.
