MSCONFIG Error

I seem to be having some kind of a problem. Whenever I run the msconfig utility, it opens then closes. Not sure what is causing the problem. I ran Norton Anti-Virus and there seem to be no viruses. I have tried the windows restore and said that all files have been restored, but did not fix the problem. When I reboot the msconfig utility comes up saying that I used the msconfig and if I don't want windows to open this box place a check in the box. I also got the following error: The instruction at "0x7288a08c" referenced memory at "0x000000 (there were 2 other numbers or digits at the end not for sure what). The memory could not be read. I hope this is clear enough to understand. Thanks

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
I worked on a machine last week with the same problem. Big delay in running msconfig. It was a virus or spyware causing the problem. Run a scan at Trendmicro .com first. Then download and run MS Antispyware.
