Brand New HDDhaving Windows XP installation problems

Ok, I am having a huge problem guys. This is my first build, and I puchased a brand new 120 Gig Segate HDD. I set the boot prioity to CD first, and booted from the Windows XP CD. So I went to install it, then it asked me to put in an older version of Windows to veriy if I am eligible fo the upgade. So I did and I put in my old Windows ME CD. Then I had to choose my partion and put in the Windows XP CD, which I did. When it started to convert, a blue screen came up saying "STOP: c0000135". Very confused and annoyed. Please some one help me.

Does this ring any bells: "A third-party advertising program that is named T.V. Media is installed on your computer. (T.V. Media is from Total Velocity Corporation.) To help you avoid a failed Windows XP SP2 installation from Windows Update or from Automatic Updates, we have blocked the download of Windows XP SP2 to computers that have T.V. Media installed unless Critical Update 885523 is also installed."

You receive a "Stop: c0000135" and "winsrv was not found" error message after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2

Wait a minute EzyStvy.
That's suppposed to be a brand new hard drive with nothing on it and this happens during an initial install of XP upgrade edition.
Either the disk itself is corrupt or that hard drive is the problem.
Just now it sounds like the Windows disk is the problem but he can still run the disk diagnostic from Seagate, if it shows bad sectors the hard drive gets RMA'ed.
If the drive gets a clean bill of health since this is a new retail copy of XP he can call M$ (toll free call) and tell them about it. The odds are they'll offer to replace the copy, takes about 2 weeks.
The one time I had to deal with a problem like this they not only replaced the copy they gave the buyer a full refund as well.

I think i got it

Well, i think that my problem is fixed guys. I ead somewhere alse of the forums that it could be something wrong with my hardware so I took out my slave drive, and took out another of my DVD drives that wouldn't read. Right now setup is installing files. Hopefully (*crosses fingers*) everything will be ok.

Add them back, one at a time, and find out where the problem is.
Good job lefty.
