reinstall of OS on MB replacement ?
I have always just reinstalled my Operating system when I do a motherboard replacement. I have never tried just booting up with the OS that was installed using the other motherboard.
Do you really have to ?? Is XP tied to the ram CPU and chipset or something ??? |

The chipset drivers, usb drivers, etc are all different. Just do a repair/install instead of a format and reinstall. That way your programs and personal data should stay intact. You'll have to do all the Windows Updates again but that's all.
