ASPI32 service failed to start

Have 2 partitions on Seagate HD. First got screwed by that Roxio Easy CD Creator (Adaptec) that gave everyone with W2K headaches. The second partition was a "repair install" of W2K and files were copied over. I now use Cakewalk Pyro(works flawlessly). I didn't do the repair on the first - I obtain computer as is.

I would like to remove/delete/disable this ASPi32 service from starting up.
This is all I have found: in regedit: ASPI32 > enum (folder)> lines in it are Count, INITSTARTFAILED, Next instance Root\legacy-ASPI32\0000

This is the only Error in my event log.
I found on another solution on a website to delete: HKEY_Local.machine/system/currentcontrolset/services find the ASPI32 - How do I exactly delete/disable this line?

W2K Pro SP4
P650 PIII
60 gig Seagate
Tekram P6B40
Bios Award 4.51
HP CDRW 9300
Radeon 7000

Solved!

Thanks glc! don't know why my seaches on MS didn't pull this one up. Funny too, my blue screen of death on the 1st partition happened in May 2004 and this article came out in June 2004.
This forum is a godsend to us who flail in the waters of reading too much online and think we can solve our technical accidents...hey isn't that like sleeping at Holiday Inn express and waking up to solve the world?
