IE opening super slow?

Well, everything was fine. Perfectly fine, when I open IE (double click on IE), it takes about 1 sec to appear. But then, after I installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal, and rebooted my computer, I got a blue screen saying I had to scan my C:\ for some weird problem, so I waited and it scanned. Then it said deleting corrupted files or whatever. Then, everything was just fine but then, I noticed that when I load IE now, it takes about 3-5 seconds. And, my "show desktop" on my little taskbar beside the "start" menu, had a blank image instead of the "show desktop" image, and I can't use the "show desktop" function. I dont really know how to fix it, and its really getting annoying now that I have to wait for IE to load up (I sometimes open multiple IE windows) - And I'm not a fan of FireFox.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

And, my computer is new, its about 2-3 weeks old.

- Is it because of my Kaspersky AV causing this slowness, should I uninstall it? Maybe it was the blue screen scan C:\ thingy..

Anyways, hope this thing can be fixed soon.

EDIT - I UNINSTALLED KASPERSKY ANTI VIRUS, but I still get that IE startup delay. I really hope I can fix this. I hope I won't need to reformat because I got some good stuff on my computer..

You can do a repair reinstall of XP to refresh the system files unless you only have a name brand restore XP CD. You can also try IEFix, look in the Tips and Tricks section here.
