Can I sell my XP upgrade?

Hi,

I bought an XP upgrade for my old PC last year and just recently built a new pc and had to get a new version of XP. I am wondering if I can sell the upgrade version to someone and get a little money back from it, or will the upgrade no longer work for someone else since I had already used it. I am no longer using it, and the key code and all documentation are in tact with the CD. Thanks.

Sure you can sell it. However it can't be installed on more than one computer at a time.

As long as you can provide the COA with the disc I don't see any problem with it.

Agree. The Eula allows installation on only one pc. But if that pc is "retired" or no longer using the version you want to sell, it's perfectly fine to sell it as long as the Product Key goes with it. The new user will probably have to call MS for activation since it will show that it's already been installed before.

You can legally transfer ownership ONCE with a retail or upgrade license unless M$ has changed that. You must provide the COA with it and uninstall it from the existing computer. It will activate online if it hasn't been activated in the past 120 days.
